Here at Workpop, we always stress the importance of being thorough and transparent when posting jobs. Some fields are optional when posting on Workpop, but we know it's best to take the extra time to fill them out. These fields include Team Culture / About Us and Compensation. Why is this the case?
Recently, Workpop wanted to look at the impact that disclosing salary in the job post has on the number of applications received. We analyzed over 17,000 jobs that were posted on the platform beginning in August of 2016. These jobs received nearly 500,000 applications in total.
We found that jobs published with wage information received on average 50% more applicants. And that's not all. Publishes without wage information were twice as likely to receive no applications at all!
So the next time you're posting a job, go ahead and input the compensation. It will pay off down the line with more informed, engaged applicants who are actually interested in the job.
